Adrien Brody relishes filming in Pa.

NEW YORK, July 24 (UPI) -- Quintessential New Yorker Adrien Brody says he relished the chance to film his new period movie "The Village" in the wilds of Pennsylvania.

"Yes, I am very much a New Yorker, but I've always dreamed of kind of having the country place in upstate New York," the former camp counselor and Oscar-winning actor told reporters in Manhattan recently.

"It's very similar, actually, to where we were shooting in Pennsylvania. I love the wilderness. I love being in touch with nature. You somehow have a moment to decompress and see what's really important, and it's very difficult in this hectic a world to go back to basics."

Brody and his co-stars Joaquin Phoenix, Bryce Dallas Howard, William Hurt and Sigourney Weaver were all asked to leave their cell phones, Ipods and laptop computers at home during a three-week rehearsal period for M. Night Shyamalan's latest suspense drama.
