LOS ANGELES, July 13 (UPI) -- The British Academy of Film & Television Arts/Los Angeles will present actress Helen Mirren with one of its top honors this year, Daily Variety said Tuesday.
The organization has chosen the two-time Oscar nominee as this year's recipient of the Britannia Award for Artistic Excellence in International Entertainment. Mirren will pick up the award at the 2004 Britannia Awards Nov. 4 in Beverly Hills.
"She is clearly one of our generation's most respected artists," said BAFTA/LA chairman Gary Dartnall.
Mirren co-stars with Robert Redford in the current box-office release "The Clearing." She is currently shooting "Shadowboxer" with Cuba Gooding Jr.
Mirren was nominated for a best suporting actress Oscar and a leading actress BAFTA award for "The Madness of King George" in 1994. She was nominated for the Oscar and the BAFTA for supporting acctress in 2001 for "Gosford Park."
