Weekend 'GMA' co-hosts field narrowing

NEW YORK, June 8 (UPI) -- TV news correspondent Kate Snow and "20/20" contributor Juju Chang are the top female co-host contenders for the weekend edition of "Good Morning America."

An ABC News spokesman declined to confirm the hiring status of the newsmagazine's co-hosts, but a source told TVGuide.com Snow or Chang will join Bill Weir, a former Los Angeles sportscaster, at the weekend anchor desk when the show launches Sept. 4, the Web site reported Tuesday.

Snow came to ABC News from CNN last July to become the White House correspondent for the weekday edition of "GMA."

Chang has worked on various programs for ABC News since 1997, most recently as a contributor to "20/20" and also on PBS' "Now with Bill Moyers."

"GMA's" weekend edition is set to air Saturdays and Sundays.

Diane Sawyer and Charles Gibson host the weekday version, which is the No. 2 U.S. network morning show.
