Will Ferrell in racing movie

LOS ANGELES, June 7 (UPI) -- Columbia Pictures has won the rights to produce the upcoming Will Ferrell comedy "Talladega Nights," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Adam McKay, who made a series of short films for "Saturday Night Live," will direct the comedy, set in the world of big-time professional stock car racing. McKay directed and co-wrote Ferrell's upcoming summer comedy, "Anchorman." He also collaborated with Nora and Delia Ephron on the screenplay for the upcoming movie version of "Bewitched," starring Ferrell and Nicole Kidman.

"Talladega Nights" has a tentative release date of summer 2006.
