Madonna resumes tour after illness

LOS ANGELES, May 27 (UPI) -- Pop diva Madonna is back on her Re-invention world tour after canceling a show in Los Angeles because of the stomach flu.

Madonna returned to the stage Wednesday at The Forum following doctor's orders to postpone her show 24 hours earlier.

"Madonna has the stomach flu and was ordered by her doctor to rest this evening (Tuesday)," said a statement posted on her official Web site.

Fans who missed Tuesday's show were instructed to use the tickets for Wednesday's show, Madonna's Web site said.

The third and final Los Angeles concert was set for Thursday, after which the tour moves on to Las Vegas and Anaheim, Calif.

Madonna launched her 50-city world tour Monday in Los Angeles. She will travel through the United States, Canada and Europe.

On Monday, the pop singer announced that she had canceled tour stops in Israel because of terrorist threats against her children.
