Courtney Love is off to rehab

LOS ANGELES, May 26 (UPI) -- Rocker Courtney Love has agreed to undergo drug treatment in a plea deal over her attempted break-in at a Los Angeles home while high.

In exchange for the rehab stint and a guilty plea to one misdemeanor drug charge, the disorderly conduct charge stemming from the October 2003 incident was dismissed, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

Love's drug treatment will include an outpatient program where she will receive narcotics counseling, substance abuse classes and possibly random drug testing.

Last October, police found Love standing outside a home where she admitted breaking windows in an attempt to enter.

Later that night, she was taken to a hospital after paramedics found her under the influence of a controlled substance.

Love faces separate felony charges of illegal possession of hydrocodone and oxycodone in that incident.

If Love completes the program, she may ask for dismissal of the drug charge. If she fails, she could spend from 90 days to one year in county jail, the Times said.
