Familiar faces headed to CBS in fall

NEW YORK, May 19 (UPI) -- CBS called on some of TV's most familiar faces for its 2004-2005 season, including Jenna Elfman, Jason Alexander, John Goodman and Rob Lowe.

CBS has lined up Alexander, a "Seinfeld" veteran, for a new series based on sports columnist Tony Kornheiser's life, the Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday. Lowe will star in the new drama, "Dr. Vegas" and Goodman, the husband on "Roseanne," will star in the new CBS comedy "Center of the Universe."

Elfman, former "Dharma and Greg" star, is to head a midseason comedy from the writer of CBS's hit "Two and a Half Men."

The latest spinoff of the "CSI" franchise, "CSI: NY" will star veteran actors Gary Sinise and Melina Kanakaredes.

CBS executives unveiled the network's new lineup to advertisers Wednesday in New York.
