Courtney Love rants after court appearance

NEW YORK, May 14 (UPI) -- Singer Courtney Love was seen ranting nonsensically about actor Russell Crowe and her public image when she left a New York court date.

Love pleaded innocent Thursday in a Manhattan court for allegedly hitting a man on the head with a microphone stand at a gig, E! Online reported Friday. After leaving the courtroom, Love launched into an impromptu, stream-of-consciousness speech in the women's bathroom.

Love talked about her image and drug abuse history.

"I'm exactly the same as I've always been. I'm not a demure housewife. Why should I start now?" ... "I was a junkie. I'm not now," she said.

Love apologized to Crowe.

"I'm sorry to Russell Crowe for you leaving me all those messages for the Golden Globes," said Love. "I never got them, dude. It would have been a fun date."

She also talked about her court case.

"I don't think I hurt anybody," she said of the incident, which required victim Gregory Burgett to receive three staples for his head injury. "If I did, I'm sorry."
