Baby boy for Blanchett, Upton

LONDON, April 27 (UPI) -- Australian actress Cate Blanchett has given birth to a baby boy in London, the BBC said Tuesday.

Best-known for her role in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy and her Oscar-nominated turn in "Elizabeth," Blanchett also has a 2-year-old son, Dashiell John, by her writer/husband Andrew Upton.

Baby Roman Robert was born Friday, the BBC said.

The 34-year-old actress will next be seen playing Katharine Hepburn in the Howard Hughes biographical drama "The Aviator."
