NEW YORK, April 17 (UPI) -- U.S. cable's TV Land is featuring a six-part documentary series entitled "TV Land Moguls," focusing on the top producers in each decade of television.

Hosted by Merv Griffin and narrated by actor Adam Arkin, each one-hour installment chronicles the creative pioneers who left their mark on a series of shows in each decade.

The first documentary premieres April 21 at 9:00 p.m., ET, followed by a block of programs representing the work of the moguls featured in the documentary. The remaining documentaries, produced by CBS News Productions, will follow each week on Wednesday in the same time slot.

For example, in golden age of television in the 1950s, Desi Arnaz, Lucille Ball, Sheldon Leonard and Danny Thomas developed breakthrough television production and three-camera filming of character-driven sitcoms before live audience.

Episodes of "Love Lucy," "Make Room for Daddy, "The Andy Griffith Show," and "The Dick Van Dyke Show" among others will be aired following the first documentary.
