Diana Ross will not return to jail

TUCSON, April 6 (UPI) -- A Tucson, Ariz., judge ruled that singer Diana Ross is cleared from serving more jail time for a drunken driving charge after authorities released her early.

The judge found no reason to reincarcerate Ross after she was allowed to leave 90 minutes early from the jail cell where she was serving a 24-hour sentence, Entertainment Tonight Online reported Tuesday.

Ross was sentenced to serve time for a Tucson drunken driving charge, but her attorney had worked out a deal for the singer to be locked up near her home in Connecticut.

When Connecticut authorities released the former Supremes star early, Arizona officials questioned whether Ross had fulfilled her punishment.
