"Sarah and I really bonded over our addiction to really unbelievably absurd reality television," Silverstone told reporters in Los Angeles recently.
"So, it was a surprise actually at the end when we found out Ruben was going to do that because we had really been genuinely talking about the show the entire time... and analyzing it and just being so lame," she said. "It was really fun."
Silverstone, who admitted she watches "Average Joe" and "The Bachelorette," said her favorite entry in the "mindless fun entertainment" category is "Survivor."
"I cry during 'Survivor' at every single challenge," she confessed. "Something gets me from the music. I don't know why, but I just get so emotional from the music."
"It's terrible," she added. "As an actress you're really not supposed to watch them because everybody is saying they're taking over."
Silverstone said she has not heard whether her romantic scripted television series "Miss Match" will return for a second season.
