Green creates show for Cartoon Network

LOS ANGELES, March 25 (UPI) -- Former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" co-star Seth Green is executive producing an animated series for the Cartoon Network.

The cable channel has ordered 20 episodes of the untitled project, a stop-motion cartoon depicting well-known toys acting out satirical vignettes, noted The Hollywood Reporter.

"It's like 'Saturday Night Live' with toys instead of actors," Green said. "We're ecstatic to be doing it with the Cartoon Network."

Green, a former child actor who went on to play Oz on "Buffy" and Dr. Evil's son in the "Austin Powers" movies, created and produced the series with Matthew Senreich, editorial director of magazine publisher Wizard Entertainment.

Green can next be seen in "Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed," due out Friday.
