Kate Winslet may join 'Harry Potter' cast

LONDON, March 23 (UPI) -- British actress Kate Winslet has met with Hollywood producers about taking the role of a French wizard in the fourth "Harry Potter" film.

Winslet met with director Chris Columbus to discuss the part of Fleur Delacour from the fourth J.K. Rowling book, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," Winslet's husband, Sam Mendes, told London's Mirror Tuesday.

"She is still thinking about it," Mendes said. "I told her to do it just for the kids. Mia and Joe will thank her in the future."

If Winslet, 29, takes the role for her kids, she will not be the first actor to do so.

Emma Thompson, 44, said she grabbed the role of Professor Sybill Trelawney in the third Potter movie "The Prisoner of Azkaban" to impress her 4-year-old-daughter Gaia.
