Lawyer wants Jackson's kids taken away

LOS ANGELES, March 18 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles attorney claims Michael Jackson's children are at risk and says she took a legal step towards having them removed from the singer's custody.

Gloria Allred said she has filed an application with the Los Angeles County Juvenile Court requesting 5-year-old Prince Michael I, 4-year-old Paris and toddler Prince Michael II be removed from the entertainer's care and be made dependents of the court, KABC-TV, Los Angeles, reports.

Twice in the last two years, Allred has filed complaints with child welfare services in Santa Barbara County to investigate the condition of Jackson's children, KABC-TV said.

Jackson has pleaded innocent to seven counts of performing lewd or lascivious acts on a child under 14 and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent, reportedly wine, at his Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara.

The alleged victim was a visitor to Jackson's home, not one of his own children.

Allred filed complaints in Los Angeles because Jackson recently moved there will his children.
