Mary-Louise Parker to return to Broadway

NEW YORK, March 10 (UPI) -- New mother and Golden Globe Award winner Mary-Louise Parker will return to Broadway this fall in a new production of "Reckless."

Written by Craig Lucas and directed by Mark Brokaw, the Manhattan Theatre Club and Second Stage Theatre production will begin previews at The Biltmore Theatre Sept. 22, with an opening night planned for Oct. 14.

Recently praised for her performance in the HBO miniseries "Angels in America," Parker earned her first Tony Award nomination for her performance in Lucas' play "Prelude to a Kiss" and also co-starred in the film version of "Reckless" as the parapalegic, Pooty, and in the film, "Longtime Companion," both written by Lucas.

In the new production of "Reckless," Parker will play Rachel, a woman who travels across the country, finding "home" with a succession of strangers after a Christmas Eve falling-out with her husband and son.

Parker earned the 2001 Tony Award for her performance in the play "Proof."
