Glenn Close to play judge on 'West Wing'

LOS ANGELES, March 9 (UPI) -- Oscar-nominated actress Glenn Close will make a rare U.S. TV appearance as a judge on the March 24 episode of NBC's "The West Wing."

In the episode, Close will play a federal judge whom President Bartlet (Martin Sheen) considers appointing to the Supreme Court, but whose left-of-center politics make her a tough sell, Zap2it.com reported Tuesday.

Close, who has been nominated five times for an Academy Award, last appeared on episodic TV as a voice cameo on "The Simpsons" earlier this season and on a May 2002 episode of "Will & Grace."
