LOS ANGELES, March 1 (UPI) -- Sharp-tongued "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell has apologized for unkind remarks he made about rocker Ozzy Osbourne's near-fatal ATV accident.
The British and U.S. television personality had hinted the accident at Osbourne's Buckinghamshire estate was a hoax to boost sales of his latest single, said London's Daily Mirror.
However, Cowell apologized for his comments when he appeared on the Los Angeles-based "The Sharon Osbourne Show," explaining he had not realized the full extent of her husband's injuries.
"Someone told me that he had fallen off a quad bike, so I thought it was the same thing as falling off a chair, "Cowell said. "I swear, I had no idea.
"I apologize for everything, everything I used to say and everything I will say," he added.
