Cowell to help model change careers

LONDON, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- British "Pop Idol" judge Simon Cowell has offered to help "I'm a Celebrity" contestant Jordan launch a singing career, The Sun newspaper reported Friday.

The sharp-tongued Cowell told model Jordan, whose real name is Katie Price, she has the potential to be a pop star, the paper said.

"Katie has spoken to Simon about her singing career and he said he is prepared to help," a source told The Sun.

"He really likes her, thinks she is funny and he realizes her potential. They met up recently at a TV awards party and they were discussing it then. Simon is in Los Angeles filming 'American Idol' at the moment, but they're going to have a meeting when he gets back," the source said.

Jordan fired her manager Dave Read soon after leaving the "I'm A Celebrity" reality show. She has now signed up with a new manager and has been flooded with offers of television work, the paper said.
