WELLINGTON, New Zealand, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Peter Farrelly, half of one of Hollywood's most successful comedy duos, wants to move his family to New Zealand, it was reported Saturday.
Farrelly, who co-wrote and directed "Dumb and Dumber," "There's Something About Mary" and "Stuck on You" with his brother Bobby, has applied for New Zealand residency, the Dominion Post reported.
Farrelly, 47, and his wife submitted their application to New Zealand's Immigration Service about a year ago and have yet to hear back, the newspaper said.
"I love this country," Farrelly said. "I love the politics of the country. I like the fact there's no nukes, there's no handguns. I like a lot of what you guys do."
Farrelly said he first visited New Zealand seven years ago "and fell in love with the place."
Farrelly is currently vacationing around New Zealand with his family and said he planned to travel the country for the next several weeks.
