'Indiana Jones' project on hold

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- The fourth "Indiana Jones" movie is on hold because producer George Lucas is unhappy with the screenplay turned in by Frank Darabont, TV Guide said Thursday.

The magazine reported that Lucas has commissioned a rewrite, and production on the movie probably won't start until 2005 -- when Harrison Ford will be 63. When Darabont was initially offered the assignment, insiders at Paramount Pictures said they expected the picture would be in theaters by 2005.

Darabont, who was nominated for screenplay Oscars for "The Shawshank Redemption" (1995) and "The Green Mile" (2000), reportedly wrote the screenplay based on a story from Lucas that has already been approved by Ford and "Indiana Jones" director Steven Spielberg. He has written "Indiana Jones" material before -- contributing several episodes of the 1992-93 TV series "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles," and several screenplays for "The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones," starring Sean Patrick Flanery.
