Jackson will not be on the Grammys

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Janet Jackson has been scrubbed as a presenter during next Sunday's 46th annual Grammy Awards TV show which will be held in Los Angeles.

"Access Hollywood" said it learned Wednesday Jackson will not appear on the CBS-TV telecast. She had been scheduled to introduce a tribute to singer Luther Vandross, but CBS retracted its invitation.

The action came amid the controversy surrounding her revealing halftime performance during the past weekend's Super Bowl, which also aired on CBS.

During that MTV-produced show, Jackson appeared with Justin Timberlake. At the end of their routine, Timberlake ripped off a piece of Jackson's costume, exposing her right breast.

Jackson subsequently admitted the stunt had been planned, but insisted CBS, the NFL and MTV were all unaware of it.
