LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Buena Vista Home Entertainment has mysteriously pulled a special edition DVD of "Ed Wood" from a scheduled Feb. 3 release.
Video Business said retailers stuck with the product to return are wondering why it was yanked so close to the release date.
A Buena Vista spokesman said only, "Distribution dates get changed all the time." He said his studio is seeking a better date for the release of the now twice-delayed DVD that had been originally scheduled for a late 2002 date.
Trans World Entertainment Executive Vice President of Merchandising, Marketing and Inventory Management Fred Fox said he believed the title was pulled because of a rights issue.
Another source suggested to Video Business that Director Tim Burton was dissatisfied with the DVD extras. The disc includes a commentary by Burton and actor Martin Landau, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage hosted by actor Johnny Depp, a cross-dressing retrospective and a featurette
