Reedmen Joshua Redman, David Sanchez, Harry Allen and Harvey Wainapel, the Bill Charlap trio and Brazil's Trio da Paz are featured in a series of Getz tribute concerts on April 30, May 22 and June 13 at the Herbst Theater.

Redman, the festival's artistic director, is also a key force in the SFJazz Collective, an all-star resident ensemble that will make its debut April 1 and 2 with a showcase of works by Coleman.

"His music is beautiful music," Redman said. "I hope we can help show what an inspiring composer he is, in addition to being a famous innovator."

The multi-generation band includes saxophonists Redman and Miguel Zenon, pianist Renee Rosnes, trumpeter Nicholas Payton, vibes player Bobby Hutcherson, trombonist Josh Roseman, bassist Bob Hurst and drummer Brian Blade.

Coleman, 73, will perform with his own quartet on March 20.

Other concerts feature Charles Lloyd, Sonny Rollins, Jimmy Scott, Poncho Sanchez, Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter, Hank Jones, Joao Gilberto, Bela Fleck and Hugh Masekela.
