The live action film will be produced by David Heyman through his Heydey Prods.

First published in 1958, it's the story of Kip, a high school senior, who longs to go to the moon. He wins a real spacesuit in a contest but is forced to sell it for college tuition. When he decides to take one last walk in the suit in his backyard, he jokingly calls out on the radio only to unexpectedly contact a passing spaceship. The adventure that follows puts the very fate of Earth in his hands.
