'Sex and The City' offends Brooklyn

NEW YORK, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Many Brooklyn residents have protested about how their fair borough was maligned during Sunday's episode of HBO's "Sex and the City."

When the character Miranda's husband suggests the couple relocates from Manhattan to Brooklyn, her reaction is compared to the emotional turmoil of another character, Samantha's, cancer diagnosis, causing Brooklyn residents to be up in arms.

"Obviously, she doesn't know that there are more people moving to Brooklyn from Manhattan than vice-versa," said Borough President Marty Markowitz in Tuesday's New York Post.

Brookynites agree.

"A Manhattanite moving to Brooklyn was a big deal 15 years ago, but not anymore," said Jim Cornell of Park Slope. "All of us out here know what Miranda and her Manhattan-centric friends don't know: People in Brooklyn have a life!"
