LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Some of Hollywood's most popular actors and actresses ruled with nominations for the 9th annual Critics' Choice Awards, which were announced Tuesday.
Sean Penn, from the award's most-nominated film "Mystic River," was recognized for his work, along with Russell Crowe ("Master and Commander"), Johnny Depp ("Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl"), Ben Kingsley ("House of Sand and Fog"), and Bill Murray ("Lost in Translation").
Best actress contenders were Jennifer Connelly ("House"), Diane Keaton ("Something's Gotta Give"), Nicole Kidman ("Cold Mountain"), Samantha Morton ("In America") and Naomi Watts ("21 Grams").
The awards will be given out Jan. 10 when actor Eric McCormack, from the hit NBC show "Will & Grace," hosts the gala celebration by the Broadcast Films Critics Association.
