National Film Registry adds 25 titles

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- The Library of Congress said Tuesday it has added 25 films, including "Patton" and "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," to the National Film Registry.

Under the National Film Preservation Act, the librarian of Congress names 25 "culturally, historically or aesthetically" important movies to the registry each year, to honor America's film heritage and promote public support for its preservation.
