Boston critics pick 'Mystic River'

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- The Boston Society of Film Critics has named "Mystic River" its top movie of 2003 and given its top directing and acting prizes to "Lost in Translation."

In addition to the top prize, "Mystic River" also won for ensemble acting. The cast includes Tim Robbins, Sean Penn, Kevin Bacon, Laura Linney, Marcia Gay Harden and Laurence Fishburne.

"Lost in Translation's" Sofia Coppola won for best director. Its stars, Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, won best actor and actress.

Peter Sarsgaard was named best supporting actor for "Shattered Glass" and Patricia Clarkson won best supporting actress for her performances in "Pieces of April" and "The Station Agent."
