NEW YORK, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- The Blind Boys of Alabama are set to kick off a Christmas tour to support the legendary gospel group's first holiday album, "Go Tell It On The Mountain."
The tour will feature many of the artists who contributed to the album, including Chrissie Hynde, Aaron Neville, Michael Franti, Mavis Staples, John Medeski, Charlie Musselwhite, Robert Randolph and Duke Robillard.
The tour will begin Dec. 9 at the Boulder theater in Boulder, Colo., and wind up Dec. 21 at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Pa. The tour's highlight is the Dec. 19 show at the Beacon Theater in New York, the only show that will include performances from Hynde, Franti, Randolph, Musselwhite, Robillard, Neville, Staples and Medeski.
The group, which has been together more than 60 years, will also appear on the Tonight Show Dec. 15 and on the Today Show with Aaron Neville on Christmas Day.
