Narrowing the gap, however, was OutKast's "Hey Ya!" The song is the chart's fastest-growing track at radio for the second week in a row and jumped from 13 last week to No. 5 on the latest list.

"Hey Ya!" is one of two singles from OutKast's double-CD "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" (Arista). "The Way You Move," featuring Sleepy Brown was also performing well, hanging in the top-10 but falling to No. 8 this week from No. 7.

Yet "Hey Ya!" was the clear crossover hit, and earned jump to No. 6 on the Top 40 Mainstream chart published by Billboard sister publication Airplay Monitor.

In addition, "Hey Ya!" topped Billboard's Hot Digital Tracks tally for the sixth week in a row. That marked a minor milestone on Billboard's charts: It was the first time the top title on the Hot Digital Tracks chart has outsold the No. 1 commercial single on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Sales tally.
