NEW YORK, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Singer-songwriter Tori Amos has announced the formation of a new business venture, the Bridge Entertainment Group.
The project development company will help musicians deal with anything from creating an album marketing campaign to putting together a tour.
Amos was moved to start the venture after Epic Records President Polly Anthony, who signed Amos to the label, unexpectedly resigned recently.
"Polly was one of the main reasons why I signed with the label, and after she left it became clear I had to pull together my own creative team that wouldn't miss a beat in the development of my various projects," Amos said.
"The record companies seem to be cutting back the ideas people and those who know how to implement. The music business is changing and we need to change with it."
Accordingly, Amos is the firm's first client.
Bridge will coordinate the upcoming launch of Amos' "Tales of a Librarian" on Atlantic Records on Nov. 18, followed shortly thereafter by the release of the film "Mona Lisa Smile," with soundtrack material from Amos, who also makes a cameo appearance in the film.
