Roberts to replace Blanchett in 'Closer'

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Oscar-winner Julia Roberts reportedly will replace Cate Blanchett in the movie adaptation of Patrick Marber's "Closer."

Nicole Kidman starred in the Broadway production, which had her appearing in the buff on stage. Roberts generally has put strict nudity clauses in her contracts and it is unclear whether the screen adaptation will require her to go "au naturel," Zap2It reported.

Blanchett dropped out of the project because she is pregnant.

Also planning to appear in the picture are Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Clive Owen. Mike Nichols is directing.
