NEW YORK, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Iggy Pop will perform live with his punk rock band The Stooges next Wednesday in New York at a benefit for the fight against AIDS.
The 8 p.m. concert will be held at Roseland in New York City, with the multi-platinum band Godsmack on the same bill.

The concert is an MTV2 event and is part of the pre-MTV Video Music Awards concerts.
John Cannelli, executive director of the charity group LIFEbeat, said his organization is honored to have Iggy Pop and The Stooges reunite in New York City and to have Godsmack perform to help raise funds for HIV/AIDS prevention programs.
