'Frasier' finale may wind up at altar

NEW YORK, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- They're getting ready to send Frasier Crane strolling off into the sunset -- but the question is whether he be strolling alone.

The 11th and final season of the hit NBC sitcom "Frasier" is coming up and, according to the New York Daily News, the show's writers are thinking of ending with wedding bells for Kelsey Grammer's character.

Frasier ended last season in a romantic entanglement with KACL stock analyst Julia Wilcox, played by Felicity Huffman, to the dismay of his lovelorn longtime producer Roz, played by Peri Gilpin, who left for another station.

Series co-creators Christopher Lloyd and Joe Keenan -- who have returned for the final season -- also plan to send Niles and Daphne (David Hyde Pierce and Jane Leeves) into choppy waters with Niles' first wife, Maris, as the source of marital discord. But, contrary to previous reports, the role will not be cast.
