LONDON, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Fox's "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell, never at a loss for words, is fielding proposals for his own syndicated talk show.
"If the deal was right and the format was interesting as a show -- then definitely," Simon told the New York Daily News.
Cowell enjoyed a recent fill-in stint on "Live With Regis & Kelly." But he said he'll be careful about jumping into the talk game full-time -- especially after hearing Sharon Osbourne is having problems getting her upcoming show off the ground.
"I've been successful in America because I'm in a really good show, 'American Idol,'" he said.
Cowell is currently focused on the third "American Idol," set for January.
He doesn't believe the controversies surrounding past contestants -- such as Frenchie Davis' career as an Internet porn model, to winner Ruben Studdard's alleged payment for wearing his "205" jerseys -- have hurt the image of "Idol," the News said.
