NBC unveils high-definition lineup

NEW YORK, July 11 (UPI) -- NBC Cable Networks announced some of the shows it plans to feature on its new network that will be dedicated to high-definition programming.

The network, Bravo HD+, is set to launch July 31 with an amalgam of new content and shows that have already aired, including popular NBC show "The West Wing."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the channel will also feature classical and other music, and sports such as the Olympics and the 2003 Triple Crown horse races.

"Bravo HD's premier lineup offers our affiliates high-quality, diversified programming to attract new subscribers to their digital tiers," NBC Cable Networks president David Zaslav said.

NBC officials said Bravo HD+ will not be a simulcast of the Bravo cable channel.

Cirque du Soleil's "Varekai" and the "Music in High Places" series, which features recording artists performing at ancient sites, will also be featured on the new channel.
