Major Hollywood auction scheduled

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., July 7 (UPI) -- Joseph Maddalena of Profiles In History has assembled a million-dollar collection of Hollywood memorabilia for his next auction.

Among the items on the block July 31 in Beverly Hills is the costume worn by television's original Superman.

Bidders can attend in-person or through a simultaneous live internet hookup through eBay Live Auctions (ebayliveauctions.com) for buyers around the world.

George Reeves' Superman costume from the classic TV series is estimated to be valued at $100,000-150,000. Also at auction are the original manuscript from Mel Brooks' 1968 MGM movie, "The Producers," and Brooks' original handwritten lyrics from "The Producers'" song "Springtime For Hitler."

In addition, Maddalena will auction items from science fiction classics, such as "Battlestar Galactica," "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" and the original 1960's "Star Trek" TV series.
