Prince Charles' fundraiser a success

LONDON, July 6 (UPI) -- More than 100,000 fans packed Hyde Park Sunday for the annual pop festival that benefits the Prince of Wales' Trust.

Prince Charles tipped his hat and boogied to the beats of stars like Beyonce Knowles, Atomic Kitten, Shania Twain and Meat Loaf, the BBC reported.

Meat Loaf played the ugly American when he refused to yield the stage in his allotted time, forcing festival organizers to cut his mic.

Loaf went eight minutes over with his hit, "Bat Out of Hell."

"They said you've got to get off the stage," Meat told the BBC. "I said you've got to be joking after only 12 minutes, you people are out of your minds."

The rotund rocker joked it would have taken 47,000 bouncers to get him off the stage.

The festival was expected to bring in more than $1.6 million for the Prince's Trust, officials said.
