Movie extras needed in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, June 16 (UPI) -- Comedian Bernie Mac needs extras for his new movie filming in Milwaukee.

The Greater Milwaukee Convention & Visitors Bureau put out an open casting call Monday for would-be thespians over 18 to appear in "Mr. 3,000," a Touchstone feature about the unlikely comeback of a 47-year-old retired ballplayer starring Bernie Mac and actress Angela Bassett.

Hopefuls should bring a recent color snapshot to the Four Points Sheraton Hotel's south entrance on Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Filming will be mainly evenings July 16-31 at Miller Park Stadium, home of the Brewers. "These paid extra roles include portraying 'non-baseball playing' baseball players with roles in the dugout, on the bench, as coaches, as umpires, press and as baseball fans in the stands of Miller Park," said Lisa Beasley, extras casting director
