He said oil terminal, located on the Danube near the Black Sea, would an entry point for petroleum to the country.

"Over $27 million were invested in the project which was implemented in strict compliance with environmental guidelines," said Thomas Mozer, director-general of Bemol Retail, Bemol Refinery and Danube Logistics.

The comments were reported by Infotag.

"In February 2005, Azerbaijan's AS-Petrol Company signed a 99-year concession contract that called for the company to invest $250 million on the Giurgiulesti Oil Terminal in southern Moldova on the Danube River and construct an oil refinery and about 50 filling stations in Moldova," says the Energy Information Administration, the U.S. Department of Energy's data arm. "The refinery, which has a processing capacity of 600 bbl/d, processes crude oil extracted from a field in the southern region of Valeni, one of the country's two oil fields."
