Montenegro officials to sign memorandum

PODGORICA, Montenegro, June 9 (UPI) -- Justice and law enforcement authorities from Montenegro are expected to sign a memorandum Wednesday establishing greater cooperation.

The Organization for Security and Cooperation's mission in Montenegro helped bring together the country's Supreme State Prosecution Office and the Police Directorate as part of its Action Plan for the Fight against Corruption and Organized Crime project, the OSCE reported.


Authorities from the two offices including Ranka Carapic, supreme state prosecutor, and Veselin Veljovic, police directorate director, are expected to sign the memorandum on cooperation in Podgorica Wednesday.

According to a news release, the memorandum will strengthen "cooperation and exchange of information in investigation and prosecution of criminal offenses."
