'Doctor Who' debuts new logo ahead of Season 11

Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Doctor Who is getting a new look ahead of its Season 11 premiere.

British actress Jodie Whittaker unveiled the show's new logo Tuesday at the BBC Worldwide showcase in Liverpool, England, in anticipation of her debut as the Thirteenth Doctor, according to BBC America.

Showrunner Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens teamed with the creative agency Little Hawk on the project. BBC America shared a promo image on Twitter featuring the new logo, Whittaker's silhouette and the Tardis.

"#DoctorWho debuted a new look today. Behold! The first season starring Jodie Whittaker premieres Fall 2018 on @BBCAmerica," the network wrote.

The Doctor Who BBC America official Twitter account also posted a promo video. The short animation shows the Tardis "blazing a trail" through the new logo.

"New Doctor, new season, new logo. #DoctorWho," the network wrote.

Whittaker was announced as the new Doctor in July following Peter Capaldi's three-season starring turn as the Twelfth Doctor. The 35-year-old actress is known for playing Beth Latimer on Broadchurch, and has also appeared on Black Mirror.
