AAI contracted by Air Force to repair aircraft measurement systems

The company will repair the AN/USM-670 Joint Service Combat System Tester system, which is used to check electronics and avionics systems on aircraft for faults.

Feb. 14 (UPI) -- The Air Force Sustainment Center has awarded a contract to AAI Corp., a subsidiary of Textron Systems, for repair services for the AN/USM-670 Joint Service Combat System Tester.

The deal, announced Tuesday by the Department of Defense, is valued at more than $10.8 million under the terms of a firm-fixed-price contract.

The agreement between AAI Corp. and the Air Force taps the company to provide repair services for the AN/USM-670, Joint Service Combat System Tester.

The AN/USM-670, Joint Service Combat System Tester, or JSECST, is an end-to-end test and measurement system used on fighter jet aircraft such as the F/A-18 Super Hornet and F-16 Fighting Falcon, as well as tiltrotor aircraft and the A-10 Thunderbolt II.

The AN/USM-670 JSECST measures and tests the status of an electronic combat system onboard an aircraft with minimal technician interaction.

Work on the contract will occur in Hunt Valley, Md., and is expected to be complete by February 2023, the Pentagon said.

No funds are obligated to AAI Corp. at the time of the award.
