Embraer receives Super Tucano order

An unidentified customer has ordered the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft from Embraer.

Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Embraer of Brazil reports it has received an order from an unidentified customer for six A-29 Super Tucano light attack and advanced training aircraft.

The Super Tucano is a turboprop aircraft capable of carrying out a wide range of missions and has been in operation around the world for more than 10 years, the company said in a press release.

More than 150 weapons configurations have been certified for use on the aircraft, which is equipped with advanced electronic, electro-optic, infrared and laser system technologies.

Embraer said the A-29, in addition to its light attack and training roles, can also be used for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, missions.
