June 12 (UPI) -- Finland as approved an amendment to a Foreign Military Sales agreement with the United States for spare parts and support for F-18 Hornet aircraft.

The $97.1 million amendment - an extension of service -- covers software maintenance, spare parts for the aircraft, equipment, repair, transport and training services.

The Finnish Ministry of Defense said the amendment to the 2013 product support sale guarantees the required service of the aircraft with the same content from 2018 until 2020.

The Finnish government's Cabinet Finance Committee supported the amendment during a session earlier this month. It was later signed by Defense Minister Jussi Niinistö.

Additional information regarding the deal was not detailed.
