Sikorsky to provide 8 Black Hawks to Saudi Arabia

Deal exercises option on previously awarded foreign military sales contract.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, has been awarded a $91 million contract modification to provide Saudi Arabia with eight UH-60M Black Hawk utility helicopters.

The deal modifies an existing foreign military sales contract and exercises an option for the Black Hawk sale.

Work will be performed in Connecticut and has an estimated completion date of December 2017.

The U.S. Army Contracting Command is the contracting entity.

The Black Hawk is the Army's main medium-lift utility transport and air assault helicopter.
