Boeing gets $1 billion in F/A-18 spares orders

The five Defense Logistics Agency contracts cover spare parts for the F/A-18.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Boeing has been awarded four U.S. Defense Logistics Agency delivery orders worth up to about $1 billion to provide spare parts for U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornet aircraft.

The largest, for a maximum $640 million, is for spare parts. Work will be performed in Missouri with a December 2021 completion date.

Another maximum $25 million order for aircraft spares is to be completed by December 2019.

Two more orders, of a maximum $220 million and $123 million. Work will also be performed in Missouri for the $220 million order and has an expected completion date of June 2019. The $123 million order will be completed by December 2020.

All four orders were made against the same five-year base contract with one five-year option period.
