WASHINGTON, July 20 (UPI) -- Boeing has been awarded a $100 million U.S. Navy contract modification for production of four P-8A Poseidon aircraft for the Australian government.
The modification provides for long-lead parts and efforts associated with the manufacture off four full-rate production Lot 8 aircraft under a cooperative engagement agreement.
Work will be performed in Washington, Maryland, New York and the U.K.
The expected completion date is June 2017.
Naval Air Systems Command is the contracting activity.
The Poseidon is designed for long-range anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions in broad-area maritime and littoral environments.
