Safran said it has also been selected for a new engine on the Light Armed Helicopter, which will feature a new Arriel 2L2 engine.

The 2L2 will be co-developed and manufactured by Safran and Hanwha Techwin under a newly signed agreement.

Hanwha will perform licensed production of the engine, manufacturing major parts and performing the final assembly of the engine.

The Arriel 2L2 is derived from the Arriel 2N and sports a new axial compressor, new high-pressure compressor diffuser, new high-pressure turbine material and will be the most powerful Arriel variant.

It will provide better safety, reliability, power and performance, Safran said.
